My First Quilt

Last night I finished my first quilt. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out, despite the fact that it's clear I still have a lot to learn about quilting.

I got the kit from Joann.com - I don't think it's available anymore - which came with the fabric and directions. Then I cut the pieces using my new rotary cutter and mat, sewed up the pieces using the sewing machine Grandma Wells gave me for my bridal shower, and put the whole thing together! It was quite a learning experience. I think I'll just stick with small quilts for a while, and maybe ones without triangles too.

As a non-quilter, I'd have to say that doesn't look like an easy first quilt! Good job, Margaret! Those spirals must have been a bear to assemble!
